One of the things we love the most about engagement photos is getting the opportunity to play around with interesting new locations and exploring nature in Southern Ontario. The area we live in has so many gorgeous, natural backdrops to offer, and it is our responsibility as photographers to use them to create fantastic shots with amazing couples! One of the most visually diverse locations we have shot at is the well-known Sauble Beach. It is one of Ontario’s most popular beaches, and is becoming more popular every summer. This beach is the perfect location for an engagement shoot because it offers so much more than just water and sand. Flowing into Lake Huron is the Sauble River, which is famous for featuring a breathtaking, cascading waterfall. This sight can be viewed at the nearby Sauble Falls Provincial Park, just a short drive from the main community.
Although this particular engagement photo does not feature a sandy beach or a waterfall, it is one of my top shots from that day for a few reasons. First off, I love the contrast between the couple and the background. Having a dark backdrop that makes the subject pop is always essential when it comes to getting a quality shot. I also love the simplicity and the way that all focus is on the bride-and-groom-to-be. And thirdly, what is better than a candid photo of two people who are genuinely happy to be together? The expression on their faces shows nothing but admiration and true love for one another.
