WPPI 2012

Well, another year of WPPI has come and gone.  Each year, Sherry and I migrate south to Las Vegas for a week of learning at one of the largest wedding and portrait photography conventions in the world.  It is an amazing refresher each year to go back and see people we have met in previous years, make new friends as we go from classes, to visiting the trade show booths and talk to just about every photography supplier in North America.

Of course, as is usual for Sherry and me, we like to cram as much into as little time as possible when we are at WPPI and that is what we did again this year.

About two weeks ago we were standing in our living room packing for a wedding, a week in Vegas, a golf tournament and sight seeing in Phoenix and then some time in Mexico. I turned to Sherry and said “I think we may have over committed ourselves this time” and laughed.

The next day we were shooting Tom & Kate’s beautiful wedding at Graydon Hall Manor in Toronto and it was an amazing day, snowed just enough for that beautiful winter wonderland look. (I promise you will get to see the photos on the blog soon) The next day, it was off to Vegas where we arrived late Sunday night (after of course having lunch with Sherry’s grandparents before we flew out).  The next morning we were up at 6:30 and to class by 8:00AM, which for those of you who know Sherry… … … is not exactly happy hour :P.   So, armed with a tall Starbucks Mocha Frappachino, she braved the day.

For the next three days our schedule started with class, then was filled with trade show floors and “photo shopping” :), followed by more classes, then off to the hot tub to talk about what we have learned.

We saw great speakers, learned some great lessons and yes… we bought some stuff…. well maybe more than some 😛

Here are a few photos we took one evening with other photographer friends Chris and Brian.
